Templewood helps alternative assets managers raise capital and advises on secondary transactions.

Our clients are North and South American, European, African and Asian; mid-market buyout funds, growth capital funds, venture capital funds; hedge fund and private equity strategies in credit and mezzanine debt; real estate, infrastructure and real asset funds; fund incubators and the managers they seed and accelerate.

Our distribution teams provide institutional coverage for the alternative assets industry and have many years of experience raising capital for vehicles managed by established and emerging teams. Senior members of our team have worked, themselves, as investment consultants and LPs (“Limited Partners”, investors in private funds), bringing an additional perspective to our work.

As well as traditional fund investors, we have strong relationships with a very large and diverse pool of family offices and ultra-high net worth individuals, across the globe. Many of these are formalised as capital partnerships.

Our private equity mandates tend to be from teams running a 3rd fund or later in single country strategies that leverage the expertise of the manager in a specific sector. We are also interested to talk to spin-outs and carve-outs from institutional fund managers. In any case, we will not bring a manager on board without conducting significant due diligence.

Templewood does much more than capital introduction. As well as running roadshow logistics, our team will guide and advise managers through the entire process, including the production of professional marketing materials, recommendations of legal and other service providers, presentation coaching, note taking and analysis, task and project management.

As well as institutional fund vehicles, we are often able to provide investors with more innovative and flexible investment structures.

In the secondary market, we provide investors in private equity funds and assets with liquidity, by managing the sales process. Often, these transactions must be conducted swiftly and discretely, but this does not mean that it is not possible to achieve a strong price.
