Templewood, with its strategic partner, Next Energy Capital, is an investor, operator and advisor in key sectors of the energy industry.
With our partners, we work on projects from generation and management to distribution and consumption, as well as the innovations and services that support these activities.
Our team is particularly keen to explore opportunities in the following areas:
- Roll-up of renewable energy (particularly solar) generation schemes
- Technologies and services that improve the operating efficiency of power assets
- Africa and other emerging market strategies
- Companies with markets for materials produced as part of the energy generation process
The renewable energy market represents an extremely attractive consolidation opportunity. At present, the market is characterised by small operators unable to grow to scale and effectively exit from their portfolios. Our team is actively negotiating the acquisition of a number of small-scale generation schemes (operating grid-connected assets) in order to build an integrated portfolio, attractive to larger-scale institutional investors. In these investments, but also as a service to other operators, we focus on improving production efficiency through the implementation of a number of proprietary technological and operational strategies.
Our senior relationships and specialist energy knowledge in Africa provide a significant set of opportunities with high growth potential. Of course, these opportunities, and similar ones in other emerging markets, benefit from the experience and history between sovereign states and key Templewood partners.
Products and services that mitigate or put to productive use the undesirable effects and by-products of legacy energy conversion techniques are, in our opinion, likely to enjoy strong growth and represent good investment opportunities. We are keen to sponsor the development of these companies and technologies that have a positive environmental impact.
