Michael was born in Nairobi (Kenya), in 1966 and has over 15 years of Investment Banking experience in the European Power & Energy sector.  Michael has extensive expertise in principal investing across the energy sector, with a particular focus on renewable energy.

Current and recent experience in managing energy businesses (as Chairman/CEO) of companies listed on public markets.  He successfully undertook multiple fund-raising activities in renewable energy, including sourcing from institutional investors, family offices, hedge funds, infrastructure funds etc.

Michael has negotiated multiple JVs and commercial agreements with entities co-investing in assets developed and financed by NextEnergy Capital.

Former Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in Energy & Power Investment Banking Group, left in August 2006 (to found NextEnergy Capital); previously held senior roles at the investment banking department of Morgan Stanley and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Extensive principal transactional / advisory experience in the international power and energy space, including debt, equity, M&A, commodities, IPO and project finance transactions

Michael holds an MBA from INSEAD (1994).
